Expertise
C&C is proud to be BM TRADA certified in both fire door installation and maintenance, as well as fire stopping.
BM TRADA, part of Element, ensures the safety, quality, and compliance of materials, products, and processes through testing, inspection, and certification. In the UK, fire door installations must be carried out by third-party accredited contractors to ensure compliance with safety standards and proper installation. BM TRADA provides this certification, ensuring both the fire doors and their installation meet the required regulations.
The BM TRADA Q-Mark fire stopping installation scheme provides third-party certification for fire-stopping installation to ensure that products are fitted properly and in compliance with regulations. This certification verifies that the installers are competent and follow the manufacturer’s instructions as well as relevant building regulations and fire safety orders.
Fire-stopping is a crucial aspect of fire safety in buildings, as it involves sealing gaps and penetrations in fire-rated walls, floors, and ceilings to prevent the spread of fire and smoke. Ensuring that fire-stopping is done correctly is vital for the integrity of a building’s fire safety design. The BM TRADA Q-Mark certification scheme supports this by verifying that installers meet competency standards and adhere to best practices.
In addition, we are also a FENSA-approved installer.
FENSA is a government-authorised scheme that monitors building regulation compliance for replacement windows and doors. Every FENSA Approved Installer, from large national brands to small local companies, is assessed regularly by FENSA to ensure its standards are continually maintained.
As a FENSA installer, we must comply with building regulations, use energy-efficient products, and be registered with the local authority. A FENSA certificate also ensures that a warranty is issued and is an essential document if the property is to be sold.
